From September 23 to 27, the Youth Union and the Student Association of the Faculty of Tourism organized a photo exhibition "Saving water for today and tomorrow".
“Save water for today and tomorrow”
The exhibition displays photos reflecting the current state of water resources on earth, the shortcomings in the current use of water resources by humans, the risks and dangers to health and the environment caused by the lack of clean water... The photos with a realistic and emotional perspective of life have sent strong messages to young people: it is necessary to raise public awareness and take action to protect clean water resources, use water economically, protect the environment... for our present and future lives. The exhibition is divided into the following topics: Humans and water; Current state of water pollution; Action for us and the future. This is an activity towards the celebration of World Tourism Day on 27/9/2013 with the theme “Tourism and Water: Protecting our common future” according to the message of the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). World Tourism Day 2013 will highlight the responsibility of tourism and the commitment needed to preserve the world’s precious water resources. Maldives is the host country of World Tourism Day with the celebration held on 27/9. This year’s World Tourism Day is considered a good opportunity to consider the challenges that water management in tourism is facing, the measures being taken to protect water resources while still being able to bring benefits to local people in water-related tourism destinations.
