The conference, organized by the World Historical Association, Hawaii Pacific University (USA), in collaboration with the Vietnam Historical Association and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, will take place in December 2013. The conference will be a place to exchange new research results on Vietnamese history, creating opportunities for dialogue between world historians as well as Vietnamese researchers in particular. The main contents of the conference will be: Vietnam's position in the world historical process; new studies by historians on the fields of politics, economics, society, culture, environment, security, etc. of Vietnam; relations between Vietnam and the region and the world; methodology in research and teaching world history and Vietnamese history, etc. Within the framework of the conference, there will also be a discussion for history teachers in high schools in Vietnam to discuss contents related to history teaching. At the meeting, representatives of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the World Historical Association expressed their confidence in the success of the conference, affirming that the conference will contribute to promoting academic exchanges between Vietnamese and international scientists, as well as further strengthening cooperation between the parties in the future.
