On the morning of September 3, 2010, Xuan Loc Primary School (Thuong Xuan - Thanh Hoa) solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the 2010-2011 school year and received sponsored gifts from the Center for Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas Studies (University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU).Attending the ceremony were local leaders at all levels, representatives of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and all leaders and staff of the Center for Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas Studies. The total value of the sponsorship given to Xuan Loc Primary School is 180 million, including: 325 pairs of books, 325 sets of textbooks and 3,250 notebooks for all students of the school (10 books for each student) and 6 million VND to sponsor local education promotion funds. Talking about the reason for choosing textbooks as a sponsorship gift, Prof. Dr. Tran Tri Doi - Director of the Center - said: For most families in the locality, buying textbooks for their children is very difficult. Moreover, one of the cultural shortages of ethnic minorities is tool books. Meanwhile, textbooks are not only a means of education, ensuring the quality of teaching, but also a tool to disseminate general knowledge to society and improve the reading culture of the community.

Within the framework of the plan to develop bookcases for schools in mountainous areas, in the next school year, the Center plans to help expand a library in Dien Bien province. To carry out this plan, the Center will mobilize businesses to support funding and buy at low prices from publishers. In addition, the Center will mobilize donations and collect books from individuals. The Center's goal is to develop education and culture, so giving books to those who need to read is very important - Professor Tran Tri Doi shared. This sponsorship is a regular activity of the Center to implement the Fund "Developing Education in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas of Vietnam". Previously, on June 18, 2010, the Center for Research on Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas and Viegrid Company presented a total sponsorship value of 192 million VND to the Dien Bien Provincial Youth Union. Some other photos at the ceremony:
