At the beginning of the training session, Mr. Dinh Van Hung shared: “Recently, right in Hanoi, where you live and study, there have been many fires, causing very tragic consequences. Therefore, all students need to be aware of the importance of handling a fire promptly and properly as soon as it is discovered and have escape skills.”
Speaker Dinh Van Hung
Mr. Dinh Van Hung emphasized: the fastest and most timely person to put out a fire is not the fire police but the first person to see the fire. If you grasp the basic principles and have skills in fire prevention and fighting, each person can completely control the fire as soon as it starts, minimizing damage to property and life.
With vivid, visual images and videos, the speaker reviewed a number of serious fires that occurred in schools, houses, and apartments in recent times with extremely tragic consequences. At the same time, the speaker also provided specific analysis for a number of situations so that students could grasp the content of the causes, steps to handle when detecting a fire, means to extinguish the fire, use appropriate fire extinguishing agents, basic skills to escape from a fire, etc. On that basis, students grasped basic knowledge about the causes that can cause fires and explosions, the need to ensure fire safety at their residence, at schools, and at work to protect the lives and property of themselves, their families, and those around them.
Speaker Dinh Van Hung gives detailed instructions to students on how to distinguish between types of fire extinguishers and how to use them.
The topic of the training session attracted a lot of attention and students actively participated in discussions with the speakers. With a serious and curious spirit, the students asked many questions and expressed their concerns so that they could discuss openly and receive specific answers from the experts.
Nguyen Van Hiep (4th year student majoring in Political Science): “In our daily lives, we have heard and read many slogans and propaganda documents about fire prevention and fighting, about the consequences when a fire unfortunately occurs. But sometimes we still subjectively think that it is a story somewhere, and we do not really care. At today's training session, when asked about how to handle fire situations, most of us students did not know."
Like Hiep, the students actively participated in the training session, actively interacting with the speaker, expressing their concerns and questions about how to handle some hypothetical situations. At the same time, they also expressed their thanks to the School's Board of Directors and the Student Affairs Department for organizing an extremely useful training session. With specific and scientific analysis from experts, we have a deep understanding of the causes and consequences of fires and explosions; the significance of proactively preventing fires properly, extinguishing fires promptly, as well as some escape skills when a fire occurs to save ourselves, our loved ones and help the community.
Closing the training session, Dr. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai (Deputy Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs) thanked the New World Skills Academy for its support and companionship in training on fire prevention and rescue for students. The knowledge exchanged and shared today is very basic and practical, not only in the workplace but also in every family, helping students raise their awareness of proactive prevention and minimizing the occurrence of fires and explosions.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai emphasized the significance of skill training sessions, demonstrating the School's companionship, care and support for students in both study and life.
According to the representative of the Student Affairs Department, the School continues to organize 3 training sessions for first, second and third year students so that all students studying at the School can be equipped with the most basic knowledge and skills in fire prevention, fire fighting and escape.
