10. Summary of thesis results:
Buddhism came to Vietnam in the early days of the second century AD. Therefore, Buddhist thoughts and philosophies have had a huge impact on the cultural life of the Vietnamese people. In particular, the Buddhist doctrine of Cause and Effect has had a very profound impact on the country and people of Vietnam in many different aspects. That doctrine has naturally become a very clear religious way of life for all knowledgeable and thoughtful Vietnamese people. Everyone, whether they are Buddhist followers or simply outsiders, seems to believe and accept the doctrine of Cause and Effect. That has been clearly demonstrated through the way of life and behavior of all Vietnamese people. People know how to choose for themselves a way of living honestly. Even at the very least, that is the natural, silent result of the doctrine of Cause and Effect. There is no intellectual or scholar, even today, from all classes of commoners to intellectuals, who does not know more or less about the doctrine of Cause and Effect. It has been deeply imprinted in the hearts of every Vietnamese person.
Therefore, from ancient times until now, the doctrine of Cause and Effect has had a very profound and broad influence on social life, in popular literature, in poetry and literature, in communication language... It has led many generations of people to enlighten their minds to the principle of cause and effect and act well in a social community. Therefore, the Buddhist philosophy of cause and effect has had a strong influence and impact on a wide scale through many different aspects of society.
It can be said that Karma is not only meaningful to Buddhists but also has a great influence on the cultural life of the nation, deeply imprinted through the folk cultural treasure. The simple sayings of our ancestors such as "Good deeds will be rewarded, reap what you sow..." have flowed into the hearts of the Vietnamese people, becoming a beautiful moral tradition. Losing this tradition, the morality of today's young generation will collapse, depraved by the temptations of material civilization, so it is necessary to maintain and build the humanistic morality which is a long-standing tradition of the Vietnamese people, so that the light will spread to people's hearts forever.
