Participating in welcoming parents and students were Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Principal of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities), teachers, functional department staff and many volunteer students.
The school has arranged 2 admission rooms for students in the Literature class, 1 room for the History class and 1 room for the Geography class. The work of checking and receiving documents is carried out scientifically, quickly and accurately.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, this year's 10th grade entrance exam for the Social Sciences and Humanities High School has 1,509 candidates registered for the exam. Of which, the Literature class has the highest number of registered candidates with 928 candidates. The History and Geography classes have 314 and 267 registrations, respectively. The school enrolls 140 students, with 70 students specializing in Literature, 35 students specializing in History, and 35 students specializing in Geography.
The new point in the 10th grade admission in 2024 compared to previous years is that candidates only take the essay test on specialized subjects within 150 minutes. For conditional subjects, the school considers the application based on the criteria of average semester scores in Math, Literature and Foreign Language.
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities, Vice Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong sent her congratulations to all students who passed the 10th grade entrance exam with excellent results, and thanked the parents for trusting and choosing to send their children to study at the High School for Gifted Students. With the mission of discovering, nurturing, and creating a source of social sciences and humanities talents for the country, the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities is a pioneer in educating and training excellent students in the fields of social sciences and humanities; combining specialized knowledge education with enhancing foreign language and information technology skills for comprehensive development, independence to mature, dynamism and creativity, confidence and humanity, adaptability to develop and orient the most appropriate goals for the future.

Joyful, excited, and happy to accompany her daughter on the admission day, the parent of Nguyen Nhat Ha (a 10th grade student of the Literature Department) shared: “Since grade 7, my daughter has researched and dreamed of one day becoming a Literature major student of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities, and she set this as her only major wish in the recent 10th grade entrance exam. My family fully supports and creates conditions for her to realize her dream. Although the school was newly established, it has quickly affirmed its brand nationwide. Therefore, the family is extremely happy and delighted when she received the School's Admission Notice. Today, when we came to school with our daughter, we received a warm and thoughtful welcome from the School Board of Directors, the friendliness and affection of the teachers, and the volunteer students. I believe that my daughter will have happy and successful days of studying at the school of her dreams.”

Immediately after all students completed the admission procedures, students and parents attended the meeting and exchange session at the 8th Floor Hall of Building E.
Here, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Principal of the Gifted High School), on behalf of the School's Board of Directors, gave an overview of the history, goals, training programs and outstanding activities of the School. Mr. Nguyen Quang Lieu proudly shared: Although a young specialized school compared to other specialized schools in the country, the Gifted High School has achieved resounding success in training and nurturing gifted students, most of its students have passed the TOP universities in Vietnam or received prestigious scholarships to study abroad. In addition, many of the school's students have won high awards in scientific research, innovation, arts and sports. That has demonstrated the philosophy of combining specialized and comprehensive training.
In particular, with the policy of “incubating talents from high school” of Hanoi National University, all students from grade 11 onwards will be able to register in advance for some credits at the university level of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as universities under the Hanoi National University. With this policy, students will not only experience the university learning environment, learn about the major they love, and have better career orientation, but also shorten the study time at the university level, saving time and money.
At the end of the exchange and sharing session, Principal Nguyen Quang Lieu expressed his thanks to the students and parents who trusted and chose to stick with the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities. Certainly, the students and parents will never be disappointed with their choice. He also emphasized that the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities always maintains a disciplined but extremely humane environment. Students must absolutely comply with school discipline regulations, but they will live and study in a house full of love, care, and sharing between teachers and students, between students and the community.
Established in 2019, the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities (under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) is a training unit with the goal of discovering and selecting students with special talents, abilities and passions for specialized subjects in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities; creating conditions for students to develop their research, creativity and discovery capacity in the fields of literature, history, geography as well as in related fields.
The school always creates opportunities and special learning environments for excellent students; develops students' deep thinking skills and problem-solving abilities through learning models and high challenges. This is also an environment for training and developing high-quality human resources for national development.
