Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Thach (Party Secretary of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh (Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong (Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); and parents from the Parent Associations of each class.
This special Opening Ceremony of the school's teachers and students was organized in a combination of two forms: directly at the studio and via online application. Although it was held in unprecedented circumstances, without being able to go to school, students of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities still got to listen to the President's Letter, the teachers' speeches, the bustling sound of the opening drum, as well as the performances of the school's teachers and students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc affirmed the position of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities on the educational map of the capital, acknowledged the efforts of teachers and students in the 2020-2021 school year and hoped that in the coming school year, the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities will continue to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan pointed out 3 key phrases: tradition - modernity, integration - trend: continuing the glorious tradition of over 75 years of the University of Letters, at the same time anticipating the modernity of the world to absorb and integrate with the trends of world education. Together with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the High School for the Gifted will continue to be the pillar in training students with an ethical and humane lifestyle.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu congratulated 144 students of Course 2 who overcame many difficulties and challenges, successfully completed the entrance exam and became students of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities. In particular, he sent advice to all students of the School to know how to "adapt to develop, be independent to mature", especially in the context of the world facing many complicated developments due to the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Honored to represent nearly 300 students to speak at the opening ceremony, student Tran Phuong Linh, class of Literature Specialized K1, expressed her pride in studying and training in a school with a rich tradition, with a team of enthusiastic and talented teachers, and a comprehensive training program. On behalf of the entire school, she expressed her gratitude to the teachers in the school, the departments under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for their care and support for students in terms of facilities and rich learning resources, creating the best opportunities for students to experience and participate in international research programs. Through that, she also promised that in the new school year she would try to study hard, improve her achievements, and complete the goals set by the school and herself to continue the proud tradition of the Faculty of Literature.

Also at the ceremony, the School announced the award decision of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities for 11 students of Course 1 with excellent results in studying and training, 5 students of Course 2 with the title of Valedictorian, 147 students of Course 1 with the achievement of Excellent Students in the 2020-2021 school year. This will be a great encouragement gift for teachers and students to continuously strive in the next school year.
Hopefully, in the upcoming special 2021-2022 school year, teachers and students of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities will continue to strive to study, practice, overcome all challenges, and continue the tradition of the University of Literature, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to make new strides and new victories, contributing to building the position of the High School for the Gifted in the heart of a heroic university.
