
In his opening speech, Vice President Dao Thanh Truong thanked the Board of Directors of VNU and Associate Professor Dr. Le Tuan Anh for their great interest, support and assistance in the international cooperation activities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. With the attention of VNU, the efforts of functional departments and the effective and close coordination of units, the international cooperation sector of the University has achieved many important achievements: expanding international partners, promoting student exchange activities, organizing international seminars, attracting foreign students to study at the University. The success of this sector of activities not only increases resources for the University but also contributes to promoting and spreading the brand and image of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to many international friends. In today's training session, the Organizing Committee hopes to receive many opinions sharing experiences from the practical activities of the units in the school, proposing some solutions so that international cooperation activities can be implemented in accordance with regulations, more substantially and effectively in the coming time.

On behalf of VNU, Associate Professor Dr. Le Tuan Anh shared general information about VNU's foreign affairs activities and development orientation in the coming time, and emphasized: expanding and diversifying foreign affairs activities in training, scientific research, and technology transfer is the core orientation of VNU. Therefore, VNU fully supports, facilitates, and assists member units to promote these activities. However, when implementing international cooperation activities, units need to pay attention to research to ensure strict compliance with the regulations of the Government and VNU.

Dr. Pham Hoang Hung (Head of Cooperation and Development Department) presented a general report on international cooperation activities at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, providing data on international cooperation agreements, the situation of foreign students studying at the University, and some notes on registering to organize international conferences. Based on the results achieved as well as some existing problems, the report proposed a number of solutions to better meet the learning needs and accommodation conditions of international students in the coming time.

Although there were many other important events taking place at the same time as the conference, the units still assigned representatives of faculty leaders and specialized staff to attend in full, openly sharing experiences in organizing scientific conferences as well as training for international students at their units.
Representatives of the Faculties made a number of proposals and expressed their hope that VNU and the University would continue to support and create favorable conditions for the Faculty's foreign affairs activities to be implemented smoothly and effectively.

Concluding the workshop, Vice President Dao Thanh Truong highly appreciated the significance of this activity: this is the first training session of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on international cooperation. The delegates listened to very useful discussions from Associate Professor, Dr. Le Tuan Anh - an experienced expert in managing foreign affairs and international cooperation activities of VNU, and at the same time, the staff directly working on foreign affairs of the units in the University shared some difficulties in the implementation process to propose solutions to remove, promote and improve the quality of international cooperation activities.
