Department of History of the Communist Party of Vietnam with training of masters and doctors in Party History

Since 1988, according to the policy of the School, the Marxist-Leninist Department's LSĐ Group, directly under the School, was dissolved, and teachers were transferred to the LSĐ Department of the History Faculty. From then on, the LSĐ Department simultaneously assumed two important functions and tasks: The function of the LSĐ Department under the History Faculty, with the task of researching and training LSĐ bachelors according to the program and curriculum of the History Faculty; and the function of the Marxist-Leninist and Ho Chi Minh Thought Department, with the task of teaching LSĐ according to the program and curriculum of the Ministry of Education and Training for students of faculties and majors not specializing in history.

In 1990, the Department of Military Science was assigned the additional task of training PhDs and Masters in Military Science.

Since October 2013, the Center for Training and Fostering Political Theory Lecturers (TTĐTBDGVLLCT) of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) has been dissolved, and the teachers of the Political Theory Department of the Center have been transferred to work at the Political Theory Department of the Faculty of History. Accordingly, the Political Theory Department of the Faculty of History has taught the Party's Revolutionary Line subject to all VNU students and trained bachelors, masters, and doctors in Political Theory.

Up to now (2017), after more than 43 years of construction and striving, the Department of History of the Faculty of History has achievedmany commendable achievements.

First, has built a team of staffhave good character, correct ideology, strong political will, high professional qualifications. Currently, the Department has 8 permanent teachers, including 4 Associate Professors, Doctors, Senior Lecturers (Ngo Dang Tri, Vu Quang Hien, Le Van Thinh, Nguyen Thi Mai Hoa), 3 Doctors (Le Thi Quynh Nga, Pham Thi Luong Dieu, Do Thi Thanh Loan), 1 Master, Postgraduate Student (Pham Minh The).

In addition, the Department also hascooperation, coordinationtraining and research with institutions related to the Party such as: Institute of Party History, Ho Chi Minh Institute, Institute of Party Building, Institute of International Relations (under the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics), Department of Party History (Academy of Politics - Ministry of National Defense); Department of Party History (Academy of Journalism & Propaganda), Department of Party History (National Academy of Politics Region 1), Department of History (Hanoi Pedagogical University 1 and 2), Institute of History, Institute of Military History, Institute of International Studies (Ministry of Foreign Affairs)... and with more than 50 prestigious scientists specializing in the Party History, Ho Chi Minh Thought, Vietnamese history, world history, military history,... inside and outside VNU.

Second, builtEstablish a training program and train a large number of high-quality staff with bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in the field of military science.. As of 2017, the Department of History has trained nearly 1,000 bachelors, more than 600 masters, nearly 80 doctors in History and participated in training and fostering teachers in History for the Ministry of Education and Training (both at the Center). Bachelors, masters, doctors, teachers in History graduating from the Department have all made positive contributions to society, especially in the field of teaching History of the Communist Party of Vietnam (Revolutionary line of the Communist Party of Vietnam) at universities and colleges nationwide.

Third, has achieved many achievements in scientific research.The staff of the Department of Military History have published over 700 research works (both individually and jointly). Of which, Associate Professor Le Mau Han has over 30 works and topics of all kinds; Associate Professor Dr. Ngo Dang Tri has published over 60 books; Associate Professor Dr. Vu Quang Hien has published over 150 articles...

Wednesday,has focused on exchange, research, and field trips at home and abroad.Every year, in addition to a field trip for students majoring in History (4th year), from 1991 to present, with the attention of the Party Committee, the School Board of Directors, and the Faculty of History, every year the Department of History organizes a field trip for teachers (during the summer) to China, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos...; or Phu Quoc, Con Dao, Dien Bien, Ca Mau, Tay Nguyen, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Quang Ninh, Tay Ninh. An Giang,... Many teachers of the Department have attended scientific conferences and improved their qualifications in France, Germany, Russia, Australia, the United States, Thailand, Korea,...

With continuous efforts, the Department's lecturers have receivedtitlenoble titles such as: People's Teacher (Le Mau Han), Meritorious Artist (Ngo Dang Tri), Third-class Labor Medal (Le Mau Han, Ngo Dang Tri, Vu Quang Hien, Nguyen Huy Cat...). The Department of Party History has received Certificates of Merit from VNU, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Prime Minister andThird Class Labor Medalof the President.
