Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Quyet - Head of the Postgraduate Training Department - presented a general assessment report on postgraduate training. Accordingly, postgraduate training in 2011-2012 had positive changes in terms of quantity, quality and organization. In 2011-2012, the University focused on converting all undergraduate training programs according to the entrance standards, according to Circular 04 and Regulation 155. Currently, the University manages a total of 55 programs, including 30 master's training programs and 25 doctoral training programs (2 programs under strategic tasks). All programs have been adjusted according to output standards and in accordance with VNU's Regulation 155 on postgraduate training and have been officially introduced and implemented since the 2012 course. Representatives of the faculty/department leaders and postgraduate assistants at the units also gave some opinions to improve the quality and effectiveness of postgraduate training. According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hong Con (Faculty of Linguistics), in order to compete with other training institutions, the University needs to review and open some new training programs, innovate the recruitment and admission process. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Faculty of History) suggested that the University open short-term foreign language training courses so that the faculty can ensure timely output for students. Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Ngoc Vuong (Faculty of Literature) suggested clarifying the maximum and minimum time of the training program framework. This greatly affects the management of the faculty and the invitation of instructors. Speaking at the Conference, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Principal) suggested that postgraduate training in the 2012-2013 school year should focus on the following points: - There should be adjustments to the enrollment scale in the coming school year in the direction of focusing on training quality. Specifically, each class should only maintain 30 to 50 students. - It is necessary to rectify the organization and implementation of the training program in many aspects such as: focusing on reference materials for students, arranging postgraduate classes during the day. - Units must have a better management plan for students' study plans, regularly update information on postgraduate management and organization, and manage well so that students report on their thesis progress every 6 months, in order to ensure the students' progress in defending.
