Opening of the 2011 Postgraduate Training Course

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the 2011 postgraduate training course on November 23, 2011. Attending were Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang - Vice President of VNU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector of the University, along with representatives of functional departments, affiliated faculties/departments and new postgraduate and doctoral students in 2011.This year's postgraduate training course has 834 students in 27 majors and 57 PhD students in 10 majors. On behalf of the school's leadership, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector congratulated the students and PhD students of the 2011 postgraduate training course. In his speech, the Vice Rector emphasized: the postgraduate training rate of the school is increasing (compared to the previous school year, the scale of master's training in 2010 increased by 10%; in 2011, it increased by 37%), marking a new step in the development of postgraduate training. This shows that the reputation and position of the school are increasingly expanded and affirmed. In 2011, the University expanded its postgraduate training cooperation with the following universities: Saigon University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, Ha Tinh University, Bac Lieu University... At the same time, it was also the year that marked the development of many new postgraduate training majors: Master of Social Work, PhD in Archival Studies and Office Management, PhD in Han Nom. Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang - Vice President of VNU highly appreciated the achievements of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in postgraduate training. The Vice President said: the postgraduate training rate in the whole VNU is the highest in the country, with great contributions from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. VNU in general and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in particular always pay attention to and focus on training quality, integrating training and research, considering it one of the solutions to improve training quality. Right after the opening ceremony, the departments/faculties also organized meetings with students and postgraduates of their units to announce the schedule for the first semester of the 2011-2012 school year.
