On the morning of November 15, 2011, Sejong Korean Language Center Hanoi – University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the launching ceremony and received the decision to appoint the Center's leadership personnel. Attending were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Principal of the University, Prof. Chung Hae Lin – Principal of Pusan University of Foreign Studies, Korea.With the support of the Korean Ministry of Education, the two universities of Social Sciences and Humanities and Pusan University of Foreign Studies decided to establish the Sejong Korean Language Center in Hanoi on the basis of the HSK Korean Language and Korean Studies Center, aiming to cooperate in Korean language training, creating conditions and opportunities for young Vietnamese people to continue studying and finding jobs in Korea or in Korean-affiliated institutions in Vietnam. On October 24, 2011, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University signed a decision to appoint Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Gia Lam to the position of Director of the Sejong Korean Language Center in Hanoi.
Sejong Korean Language Center Hanoi is located at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, operating according to the national standards of Korea. All programs, textbooks, exams, grading and graduation certificates are undertaken by Pusan University. The Korean language certificate issued at Sejong Korean Language Center Hanoi is a language certificate according to the national standards of Korea and is valid for studying abroad and working. At the launching ceremony of Sejong Korean Language Center Hanoi, the leaders of the two schools discussed some contents in the cooperation plan between the two sides in the coming time: continuing to exchange lecturers and students, coordinating to organize Korean language training at Sejong Korean Language Center Hanoi. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh said: University of Social Sciences and Humanities is ready to receive students of Vietnamese Studies from Pusan University of Foreign Studies to study at the school in many different forms. At the same time, the school will also send Vietnamese language lecturers to Pusan University of Foreign Studies to teach according to the cooperation plan.
On November 26, 2009, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Pusan University of Foreign Studies officially signed a cooperation agreement. On April 27, 2011, the two schools continued to sign a student exchange agreement. In September 2011, the two schools cooperated to establish the Sejong Korean Language Center in Hanoi. Professor Chung Hae Lin - President of Pusan University of Foreign Studies - expressed his hope that the cooperative relationship between the two schools would develop even stronger. Professor Chung Hae Lin emphasized that the cooperation between the two schools to establish the Sejong Korean Language Center in Hanoi will promote and bring the cooperative relationship between the two schools in particular and the two countries in general to a new level.
