At the invitation of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Professor, Doctor of Science in Information and Library Science Yuri Nikolaievich Stoliarov (Russian Academy of Sciences) visited Vietnam. With the consent of the Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the Faculty of Information and Library Science invited Professor, Doctor of Science Yuri Nikolaievich Stoliarov to visit the University and give a presentation to the faculty, graduate students and students of the Faculty on the topic "National policy on modern information and library". After listening to the presentation of Professor, Doctor of Science Stoliarov, the faculty's staff, students and students had the opportunity to discuss with the Professor about issues of interest to them. Many questions from teachers and students of the Faculty of Information and Library Science were raised about the state management policy for university information and library agencies; About the management of electronic libraries and electronic information sources; About the organization of information and library activities for people with disabilities in Russia; Regarding the training code for information science - library; Regarding the issue of digitizing documents and building digital collections; Regarding the issue of marketing in information - library activities; Regarding the issue of income and life of information - library staff in Russia today... Due to limited time, by the end of the discussion, there were still about 20 questions waiting to be answered by the Professor, all questions were recorded and sent to the Professor. During the answering process, Prof. Stoliarov was very impressed with the openness, enthusiasm, dynamism, love for the job and passion for research of the staff and students of the Faculty. The Professor promised to answer all remaining questions as soon as possible via Email. The friendly and lively exchange atmosphere made the Professor and the audience regret the short time of the meeting. At the end of the talk, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Quy, Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Information - Library Faculty, on behalf of the staff, students and students of the Faculty, thanked and presented gifts to Prof. Stoliarov. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Quy also expressed her wish that Prof. Stoliarov and his colleagues at the Russian Academy of Sciences would wholeheartedly help MSc. Nguyen Thi Kim Dung (a lecturer of the Faculty of Information and Library, currently a PhD student in Russia) to successfully complete her graduation thesis, quickly return to contribute to the career of cultivating people of the University and hoped to continue to receive cooperation from the Institute and the Professor in the work of training and scientific research in Information and Library. In response, Prof. Stoliarov thanked the warm welcome and affirmed that the vibrant working atmosphere at the Faculty of Information and Library has left a deep impression and will become an unforgettable memory in his mind about the country and people of Vietnam in general and about the teachers of the University in particular.
