On March 9 and 10, 2012, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities successfully held its 7th Congress (term 2012 - 2014).Attending the congress were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc - Vice President of VNU, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - President of the University, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi City, Mr. Vu Nguyen Thuc - Secretary of the VNU Youth Union, representatives of the Hanoi Youth Union; representatives of the Youth Union of universities in Hanoi; former Secretaries and Deputy Secretaries of the University Youth Union through the periods and representatives of outstanding Youth Union members in the University. The 7th Congress of the University Youth Union aims to evaluate the implementation of the Resolution of the 6th Congress for the 2009-2011 term, set out the direction of activities for the 2012-2014 term and elect the Executive Committee of the University Youth Union for the new term. In the internal session held on the afternoon of March 9, the Congress directly listened to the reports of the Executive Committee of the University Youth Union for the 2009-2012 term: summary report of activities, review report of the Executive Committee of the 6th term. At the same time, the Congress also listened to the direction of activities and discussed and approved the project to build the School Youth Union Executive Committee for the 2012-2014 term.
At the official session on the morning of March 10, the Congress listened to the report summarizing the work of the Youth Union and the School's youth movement in the 2009-2012 term. The report clearly stated that the work of the Youth Union and the School's youth movement in the past term had achieved comprehensive results in all activities. The School's youth programs in the past term were actively and effectively implemented, contributing to improving the quality of training, training ethics, political ideology for union members and youth, participating in building and developing the School, the Youth Union organization was consolidated and developed. In 2011, the School's youth was honored to receive the flag of the unit with outstanding achievements in youth work for 5 consecutive years from the Central Youth Union. The direction of the Youth Union and Youth Movement in the 2011-2014 term with the slogan of action: Courage - Creativity - Aggressiveness - Integration. Along with that are the main programs of activities such as: political - ideological education, moral - lifestyle orientation for union members; supporting the comprehensive development of union members; continuing to build a strong union organization, actively participating in the work and development of the Party; diversifying cultural - sports - art activities and volunteering to join the community. Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Vu Nguyen Thuc - Secretary of the VNU Youth Union highly appreciated the youth activities of the University in the past term. At the same time, he also pointed out the tasks and challenges for the Executive Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the new term in particular and the youth union members in general. On behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the University, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh congratulated and commended the achievements of the Youth Union and Student Association of the University in the past term. The Principal expressed his belief that in the new term, the School Youth Union will continue to affirm and promote the tradition of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, one of the important political and social organizations, a strong arm and a reliable reserve force of the Party in the School. The Principal also pointed out the basic tasks that the School Youth Union must focus on implementing well, which are: - Strengthening education, fostering revolutionary ideals, ambitions, dreams of learning and creativity to establish a successful career, contributing to the construction of the school and the country - Continuing to innovate the organizational model and operation methods of the Union to suit the credit-based training method - Paying attention to and having a plan to build a team of Union and Association cadres, especially at the branch and inter-branch levels - The Youth Union, especially the inter-branch and School Youth Union levels, need to proactively and regularly participate in contributing ideas to build the Party Committee. At the same time, focus on training and proactively introducing outstanding union members for the Party cells to train and consider admitting them into the Party.
The 7th Congress of School Youth Union Delegates was a great success with 100% of delegates voting to pass the Draft Resolution of the Congress.
