Two Decades of Globalization Social Sciences

In his opening speech at the conference, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU) shared: Over the past two decades, the trend of globalization has developed strongly all over the world. However, the impact of this trend is diverse and inconsistent. Globalization in the Americas will be different from that in countries in Asia, Europe, or Australia...

In the current context, the more globalization develops, the more the world tends to divide. In particular, in some countries, the situation is not the same as the mainstream trend of globalization.

In addition, the concept of localization is always mentioned in many current studies. These issues have posed for global scientists to cooperate and share knowledge through scientific research works, especially social science research.

Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh delivered a keynote speech at the conference.

Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh emphasized: “Vietnam is currently considered a country where globalization and localization are taking place simultaneously. Since the renovation, Vietnam has witnessed dynamic changes in the economic, political, cultural and social situation. This is an important foundation, paving the way for many research projects on the globalization of social sciences today.”
