Volunteer summer 2008

This morning, July 15, 2008, in the youthful and familiar green uniform of volunteer youth, students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities simultaneously set out, starting an exciting summer with many meaningful activities.

This year, nearly 500 students of the school participated in 15 volunteer models. Of which, there were 11 volunteer teams in 11 communes of Ha Tay, Hoa Binh, Vinh Phuc and Tuyen Quang. There were 3 specialized teams: the volunteer team of the Faculty of Literature with activities of teaching Han Nom at the Hanoi Children's Cultural Palace; the volunteer team of the Faculty of Oriental Studies teaching Korean at the Hanoi Children's Cultural Palace; the volunteer team of the Faculty of Tourism with activities of promoting Thang Long culture at the Temple of Literature and Ngoc Son Temple. A volunteer team supporting the exam season with nearly 200 students carried out activities of consulting and guiding candidates in 2 university entrance exams, from July 3 to July 11 at all exam locations of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Students who did not participate in the summer volunteer teams of the School Youth Union were given summer activity vouchers so that they could return to volunteer at local Youth Union branches.

Also this morning, the Youth Union - Student Association of VNU, Hanoi coordinated with Thach That district (Ha Tay) to organize the 2008 summer volunteer campaign launching ceremony at the district People's Committee. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has 5 teams participating with VNU member units in Thach That district.

Summer volunteer activities are expected to end on August 5, 2008.
