On the morning of August 3, at the Hall of the People's Committee of Tan Lap Commune (Moc Chau - Son La), the Volunteer Team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Tan Lap Commune to organize the Closing Ceremony of the 2010 Summer Volunteer Activities.Attending the ceremony were leaders of the Party Committee, People's Committee, departments and unions, secretaries of the Youth Union branches of villages and sub-areas of Tan Lap commune, and a large number of volunteer students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. At the closing ceremony, comrade Nguyen Duy Tu - Team leader of the volunteer team - on behalf of the team read the summary report of the summer volunteer activities of the volunteer team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Tan Lap commune (from July 15 to August 5) and presented a souvenir of the volunteer team to the representative of the leaders of Tan Lap commune. The report outlined the achievements of the volunteer team and pointed out the difficulties and limitations of the team during the volunteer days in the locality. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Ha Ngoc Quy - Party Secretary of Tan Lap commune - acknowledged what the volunteer team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities had done and hoped that the youth of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in general and the volunteer team of the school in particular would increasingly promote their youth and enthusiasm to make more contributions to their homeland and country. He hoped that the volunteer days in Tan Lap commune would become unforgettable memories in the student life of each volunteer. The Party Secretary also represented the government and organizations of Tan Lap commune to present a souvenir to the volunteer team. The farewell cultural exchange night for the volunteer team of Tan Lap commune was held at the Cultural House of Hoa I and Hoa II villages in the evening of the same day.

Up to August 3, the Student Volunteer Team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Tan Lap Commune (Moc Chau - Son La) has propagated and distributed documents to 9 villages/sub-regions: Phieng Canh, Sub-region 32, Na Tan, Nam Tom, Co Phay, Na Phay, Nong Coc, Ban Na, Nam Khao. - Regarding labor: The team has cleaned up the environment in 10 villages, medical stations and schools with thousands of meters of canals, village roads, and alleys; leveled a 500m dirt road in Na Phay Village; dug 200m of water pipes at Tan Lap Commune Primary School; participated in helping people pick tea, harvest corn, and build houses. - Cultural, artistic and sports exchange activities: The team coordinated with the Commune Youth Union and grassroots Youth Unions to organize 7 cultural and soccer exchange sessions in the villages/sub-regions: Hoa I, Hoa II, Phieng Canh, Na Tan, Sub-region 32, Phieng Canh, Na Phay. - Teaching activities: The team organized 15 knowledge review sessions and summer activities in Hoa I and Hoa II villages, attracting 100 students from grades 1 to 5; coordinated with primary schools to organize summer activities for students in the mornings, giving 40 gifts and books to children with good academic achievements. - Activities to repay gratitude and help families in difficult circumstances: The team organized labor to help 12 policy families, visited and gave gifts to 70 policy families on the War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27, and donated 8 boxes of clothes to students in difficult villages of the commune. - Youth projects and training for grassroots union cadres: The SVTN team coordinated with the school union to present Tan Lap commune union with a set of computers, a bookcase with a total of 600 books including propaganda books, cultural history, comics and children's books; organized a training session for the secretaries of the youth union branches of villages and sub-areas of Tan Lap commune.
