The 4th National Party Congress of Vietnam National University, Hanoi

On August 12, 2010, the official session of the 4th Congress of the Party Committee of VNU, term 2010-2015 took place with the participation of 293 delegates representing 25 affiliated grassroots Party organizations.The 4th Congress of the Party Committee of VNU focuses on the following main contents and tasks: reviewing the implementation of goals and tasks, drawing lessons from the leadership and direction of the Party Committee and the Party Committee during the 2005-2010 term; deciding on goals, targets, tasks of the Party Committee and solutions for implementation from now until 2015; discussing and contributing opinions to the draft documents to be submitted to the 15th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee and the 11th Congress of the Party; electing the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of VNU, term IV, term 2010-2015; electing the delegation to attend the 15th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee. Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Comrade Mai Trong Nhuan - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of VNU - emphasized: "The 4th Congress of VNU Party Committee upholds the spirit of democracy, solidarity, creativity, demonstrates the will and determination of the entire Party Committee, strives to promote the combined strength and all resources to develop VNU into a multidisciplinary and multi-field research university center in the group of advanced universities in the world, making an important contribution to the development of the country's knowledge economy, successfully carrying out the glorious mission assigned by the Party and State to train high-quality, highly qualified human resources, foster talents based on the foundation of creativity, scientific research and development of cutting-edge technology, playing a core and leading role in innovation in the Vietnamese higher education system". After comrade Pham Trong Quat - Secretary of the Party Committee of VNU - on behalf of the Executive Committee of the 3rd term presented the Political Report with the theme "Promoting all resources, proactively reaching international level, fulfilling glorious missions", the congress listened to many opinions and speeches. In which, representative of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, delegate Nguyen Kim Son - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the school - presented a speech on "Four years of transforming training methods at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: lessons learned, opportunities and challenges". The congress unanimously introduced 41 delegates to run for election so that delegates could vote for 33 comrades to join the Executive Committee of the 4th term. There were 03 delegates of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities who were elected to the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of VNU, the 4th term, namely comrades: Nguyen Van Khanh, Nguyen Kim Son and Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa. In which, comrade Nguyen Van Khanh was the one who received the highest number of votes among the elected delegates. On August 13, the Congress continued to work, discuss important issues of the Congress, and at the same time announce the results of the first meeting of the new Party Executive Committee and elect delegates to attend the 15th City Party Congress.
