On the evening of August 6, at the hall of the People's Committee of Ly Thai To Ward (Hoan Kiem - Hanoi), the Student Volunteer Team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ly Thai To Ward to organize the Closing Ceremony of the 2010 Summer Volunteer Activities.
On the evening of August 6, at the hall of the People's Committee of Ly Thai To Ward (Hoan Kiem - Hanoi), the Student Volunteer Team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ly Thai To Ward to organize the Closing Ceremony of the 2010 Summer Volunteer Activities.Attending the closing ceremony were representatives of the local government, the Standing Committee of the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and many volunteer students and members of the Ly Thai To Ward. At the closing ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Thi Nhung - Team Leader of the Volunteer Student Team - on behalf of the team read the summary report of the summer volunteer activities of the Volunteer Student Team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ly Thai To Ward. The report highlighted the results achieved after 18 days of volunteering (from July 19 to August 5, 2010). In addition, the report also pointed out the difficulties and limitations of the Team during the volunteer days in the locality. Speaking at the closing ceremony, comrade Quan Truong Giang - Secretary of the Youth Union of Ly Thai To Ward - acknowledged the achievements of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' Volunteer Team, and he also pledged to continue to support and assist the University's Volunteer Team in the volunteer program on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi at Ngoc Son Temple (which will take place from October 1 to October 10, 2010). Along with the special performances of the units, the Summer Volunteer Closing Ceremony of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ly Thai To Ward was a great success.
Summer volunteer results
The 2010 summer volunteer program in Ly Thai To Ward of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities lasted for 18 days, with the participation of 37 students from 5 faculties in the University (Oriental Studies, International Studies, History, Tourism Studies, Linguistics). The area of operation of the Volunteer Team was Ngoc Son Temple and Ly Thai To Monument, which are all famous tourist attractions in Hanoi. With the purpose of promoting Thang Long culture and introducing the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi, at the end of 18 days of volunteering, the Volunteer Team guided 546 tourists, including 225 domestic tourists and 321 international tourists.
