Congress of the Party Cell of the Faculty of Information and Library: Innovation - Digital Transformation - Pioneering Development

Developing staff and promoting technology in training and research activities
According to the report evaluating the leadership work of the Party cell in implementing the Resolution of the Party Cell Congress for the term 2022 - 2025, the Party Cell of the Faculty of Information and Library currently has 26 party members, including 15 official party members and 11 probationary party members.
During the 2022 - 2025 term, the Faculty has made breakthroughs in staff work. In particular, the Faculty has strengthened its staff (added 04 lecturers), improved academic titles, added 01 Associate Professor and many lecturers participated in PhD studies. The Faculty's staff has gradually matured in all aspects, made breakthroughs in domestic and international publishing (especially Q1), and implemented major topics. Faculty staff have had professional activities with national and regional influence. The Faculty always organizes professional training courses to improve the qualifications of lecturers.
The Faculty has stably organized 03 departments, clarified the functions, tasks and professional orientation of each department, renamed the Information Management department to match the development orientation of the Faculty; completed the adjustment profile of 05 training programs at all levels, many new courses have been updated and added to the training program to meet the demand for high-quality information management and information - library human resources for society. The faculty members of the Faculty are always actively innovating modern teaching methods, promptly applying new technology to teaching and research. In 2024, the Faculty is a pioneer inBuilding MOOCsfor the Basic Informatics course to be included in the training in the School, starting from February 2025 and attracting 300 students to register. This is an affirmation of the commitment of the Faculty and the School in innovating teaching methods, providing learners with new knowledge with digital learning methods, meeting the requirements of high-quality human resources for society.
In addition, the Faculty continues to promote cooperation activities with businesses, bringing businesses to the classroom. The highlight is that in the past 3 years, all staff and lecturers of the Faculty have participated in and successfully implemented the Project "Improving digital capacity for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities" sponsored by Meta Group, and are continuing to implement the Project "Enhancing AI capabilities for faculty and students" for about 250 lecturers, specialists, 800 students of the whole school.
In addition, the report also points out shortcomings and lessons learned, and identifies directions, goals, and tasks for the 2025-2027 term.
Strong innovation and pioneering position
The Congress listened to the presentation of the Party Committee's self-criticism; Report summarizing opinions on the draft documents submitted to the Congress and the documents of the School Party Congress for the term 2025 - 2030. Delegates attending the Congress discussed and contributed many opinions to the political reports; voted by secret ballot and reached high consensus in electing the Party Committee for the term 2025 - 2027; elected 07 official delegates, 02 alternate delegates to attend the School Party Congress and approved the Congress Resolution. Accordingly, the Party Committee of the Faculty of Information and Library for the term 2025 - 2027 includes: Comrade Do Van Hung holds the position of Party Cell Secretary, Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Dung holds the position of Deputy Party Cell Secretary; Comrade Dao Minh Quan is a Party Cell member. The Congress highly agreed on the development orientation of the Faculty of Information and Library according to the model of a training institute, closely linking training, scientific research and practical application. The focus is on innovation, digital transformation and improving the quality of training, meeting the demand for high-quality human resources in the fields of information, libraries and knowledge management. The Faculty proactively integrates and cooperates internationally, promotes interdisciplinary research, and applies advanced technology to information management, digital libraries and artificial intelligence. At the same time, it develops flexible and modern training programs, linked to businesses and practical needs. "Innovation - Digital transformation - Pioneering development" is the slogan of action adopted by the Congress.

Speaking to congratulate the success of the Congress, comrade Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Trade Union, Deputy Head of the Department of Organization and Personnel emphasized the leading, pioneering and innovative role of the Faculty of Information and Library in applying technology to research and training activities, building an electronic lecture system... Although a unit of modest scale, the Faculty has achieved important achievements, leaving many marks in the education sector, demonstrated in the products and scientific projects deployed for students, lecturers and staff inside and outside the school. The Party Committee and each Party member need to be determined in implementing the Resolution of the Congress to continue promoting the 30-year tradition of the Faculty, making important contributions to the goal of developing digital universities and research universities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and of VNU.
