Congress of the Party Cell of the Institute of Journalism and Communication: Intelligence - Sharing - Professionalism - Harmonious Development

The Congress listened to the Report on the evaluation of the leadership of the Party cell in implementing the Resolution of the Party Cell Congress for the term 2022 - 2025, the Collective review of the Party Committee, the Report on synthesizing opinions on the draft documents submitted to the Congress and the documents of the School Party Congress for the term 2025 - 2030.
The Party Cell of the Institute of Journalism and Communication consists of 52 party members (13 staff party members, 39 student party members), including 29 official party members and 23 probationary party members.
In the context of fierce competition in higher education and the strong development of science and technology, on the basis of 80 years of tradition of the University, 30 years of the name of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, 35 years of tradition of the Institute of Journalism and Communication, the Congress has identified 06 main tasks and breakthrough solutions. In which, it emphasizes the implementation of the target of lecturers meeting the standards of degrees and titles of Associate Professor in each year and achieving the target of 80% of lecturers having a doctoral degree by 2027, enrolling students to meet the target assigned by VNU each year in all systems with increasing quality. Strive for 80% of undergraduate and postgraduate courses to have lectures or textbooks by the end of 2025, 100% of lecturers to be trained and grasp the method of online training as well as compiling online lectures. Regarding scientific research, each year the Institute publishes at least 3 international scientific articles and 20 scientific works published in domestic scientific journals; each year it organizes one outstanding national conference, creating an impression.

The Party Cell of the Institute of Journalism and Communication always identifies political and ideological work as an important and regular task. The staff and civil servants of the Institute are always loyal and steadfast to the viewpoints of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought, believe in the Party's guidelines and leadership in the cause of national construction and development; join hands to implement the standardization and modernization programs, towards achieving the international level of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the key tasks of the School in each school year.
In particular, in the past 5 years, the Institute has been honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training twice, the Emulation Flag of the leading unit in VNU twice, the Certificate of Merit from the Director of VNU twice, and many Certificates of Merit from the School President for groups and individuals. In 2024, the Institute received a Certificate of Merit from the Central Propaganda Department, and was one of 10 units to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Journalists Association for its contributions to the Journalists Association.
The political report also made recommendations and solutions, including the request that the School continue to support the recruitment of new lecturers and support lecturers to complete their associate professor/professor titles. There is a policy to support the team of office staff and training assistants to stabilize their jobs long-term. In case of forced reduction of staff quotas, it is recommended that the Institute conduct a pilot study to apply a contract personnel autonomy model to develop non-formal training activities and scientific services. In addition, the Institute also requested that the School consider the criteria for scientific research and international publications when assigning to training units in the school.
The Congress agreed on the direction, goals, tasks and solutions of the Party Cell of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training for the 2025 - 2027 term. Accordingly, the Party Cell continues to promote internal strength and collective strength, maintain solidarity, stability, promote advantages, overcome difficulties to build and develop the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training in depth and in the direction of standardization and modernization of all aspects of work in the common development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Vietnam National University, Hanoi in the direction of a research university. Based on the core values ​​of the school: Intelligence - Sharing - Professionalism - Harmonious development "Pioneering - Creativity - High quality - High level", associated with 04 key points of USSH: Understanding - Sympathy - Service - Harmony.    

Delegates attending the congress discussed and contributed many opinions to the political reports; voted by secret ballot and reached a high consensus in electing the Party Committee for the 2025-2027 term; elected delegates to attend the Party Congress of the School and passed the Congress Resolution. Accordingly, the Party Committee of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training for the 2025-2027 term includes 04 comrades: Comrade Phan Van Kien holds the position of Party Cell Secretary, Comrade Bui Chi Trung holds the position of Deputy Party Cell Secretary, and Comrade Nguyen Thuy Hang is a Party Cell Member.

Speaking to congratulate the success of the Congress, Comrade Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Trade Union, Deputy Head of the Department of Organization and Personnel highly appreciated the achievements of the Party Cell of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training in the past term. As the Party Cell with the largest number of Party members in the whole school, including a large number of Party members who are students, the Party Cell of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training has a great advantage in implementing tasks. Comrade Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh emphasized that the Party Cell needs to promote the work of attracting high-quality human resources to meet the needs of improving the quality of training and research, including human resources who are students of the Institute.
2025 marks the 35th anniversary of the tradition, an important event marking the development from the Faculty of Journalism (University of General Sciences), to the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, and now the Institute of Journalism and Communication (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU). The Congress expects that with the spirit of solidarity, unanimity and close guidance of the Party Committee, all Party members, cadres, students and trainees will contribute to the sustainable development and advancement of the Institute of Journalism and Communication.
