Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh shares his experience learning English with students
The Principal shared: the idea of establishing a club - an open, friendly space where students can freely express their passion for English by listening, speaking, and conversing in English on any topic - was conceived many years ago after visiting several American universities. The canteens at these universities serve free lunch to students and lecturers of the school with only one requirement: "no speaking English". One can find an interesting multilingual space here, with many languages of many countries being used. This idea is applied to the Master's Tea Club model to bring the school's students an environment that uses English entirely and interacts directly with foreign professors. Not only that, students also have the opportunity to learn more new knowledge, practice soft skills, learn how to think and learn more useful information related to studying and researching.
Not only do students experience an English-speaking environment, they also get to interact with international friends.
During the first activity of the Master's Tea Club, students met and talked with Prof. Colman Ross from the University of Dublin (Ireland). He shared about his research work and experiences in Vietnam. Prof. Ross also said that he would invite international students to exchange their experiences of studying and researching at universities abroad; invite officials from many international organizations to talk about working at non-governmental organizations as well as information about scholarships abroad. He also emphasized that if they want to integrate and especially work in the international field, Vietnamese students need to pay attention to developing English proficiency and achieving international English certificates such as IELTS...
