Opening of international joint training classes for the 2009 - 2010 school year

This morning, November 11, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the opening ceremony of international joint training courses in Tourism Management and Public Administration Management for the 2009-2010 school year.

This is the first course within the framework of the international cooperation training program between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Guangxi University (China).

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Trong Quat - Party Committee Secretary, Vice President of VNU - attended the opening ceremony. Representatives from Guangxi University included Mr. Diem The Binh - Dean of the Academy of Commerce, Mr. Vi Nhat Binh - Secretary of the Academy of Public Management, Mr. Li Gia Quan - Deputy Head of the International Relations Office, Guangxi University.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Kim Son - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - said: This is the first student cohort of the University to be trained under the 2+2 bilateral cooperation model. Graduates will have both foreign language and professional knowledge. The University expects the training effectiveness of this program and considers this a priority direction for future development. With Guangxi University, a prestigious partner with great potential in training and teaching, the University also hopes to continue long-term cooperation in larger cooperation programs with more diverse forms.

The representative of the partner, Mr. Diem The Binh - Dean of the College of Commerce, Guangxi University - said: this is a very important event in the international cooperation between the two schools and believes that this cooperation program will be successful.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Trong Quat - Vice President of VNU - highly appreciated this cooperation activity, especially in the context of international cooperation being a major policy of VNU. He hopes that this program will contribute to expanding learning opportunities for Vietnamese students, promoting the many strengths of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, creating high-quality human resources to serve the country's development. After this success, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities needs to expand this joint training program to many new training majors, contributing to raising the level of the University's international cooperation programs.

The first course of Tourism Management and Public Administration Management in 2009 recruited 42 students. The course lasted 4 years, the first 2 years at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the last 2 years at Guangxi University. The graduation certificate was granted by Guangxi University.
