University of Social Sciences and Humanities achieved important achievements in the 2008-2009 school year.

On the morning of October 24, 2009, the Conference of staff and civil servants of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities took place with the participation of 223 delegates, representing 487 staff and civil servants of the school.

The conference listened to and discussed the following reports: Report on the implementation of tasks in the 2008-2009 school year and directions and tasks for the 2009-2010 school year; Report on financial work in the 2008-2009 school year; Report on the activities of the People's Inspectorate for the 2007-2009 term.

At the conference, delegates agreed with the report assessing the implementation of the school year's tasks of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, affirming that the University had successfully completed its tasks for the 2008-2009 school year, achieving many important achievements in various fields, especially in credit-based training; developing international training cooperation models; developing and implementing many state-level topics; organizing and participating in many international conferences, contributing to continuing to affirm the role and position of the University domestically and internationally.

Currently, except for the 2005-X course, all regular courses have been organized for credit-based training. The work of the school's credit-based training conversion process is being implemented comprehensively in both breadth and depth, the roadmap is being implemented according to plan, progress and achieving some positive results.

Regarding international relations, last school year, the School signed 11 more cooperation documents with universities in Poland, Korea, Japan, Thailand, and the United States. In addition to coordinating the organization of short-term training programs, international research and seminars, and lecturer exchanges, the School also expanded the form of cooperation in degree training. International projects continued to be implemented and expanded. In addition to projects in the fields of International Relations, Anthropology, and Cinema, there were 3 new projects on Religious Studies (in collaboration with the Missio Aachen Institute, Germany), Policy Research and Analysis (with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation), and a joint master's training project in Hotel Management (with the University of Toulouse II).

The past school year was also marked by outstanding achievements in the School's scientific research activities when the number of State-level topics chaired by the School's staff reached a record of 05 topics. In addition, international conferences, including many large conferences successfully organized, continued to contribute to affirming the position and scientific reputation of the School such as: Korea and Korean Studies in the Asia-Pacific Region 9th (in collaboration with the Central Institute of Korean Studies); Promoting Japanese Studies in Vietnam (in collaboration with the Japan Foundation), Research and Training in Social Work in the period of integration and development (in collaboration with San Jose University, USA)...

Some limitations in the work of the last school year were also pointed out by delegates such as: not yet implementing the plan for professional and technical training for staff, especially young staff; the progress of implementing the training plan in the year as well as some stages in the credit-based training roadmap is still slow; the situation of overdue scientific research topics still exists; the evaluation of theses and dissertations is still unreasonable; the effectiveness of promoting the school's image is not high...

The conference also approved the working direction for the 2009-2011 school year with the basic task of further promoting the implementation of 6 programs aiming at the goal of standardizing and modernizing all aspects of the school's activities, with special emphasis on developing the teaching staff in both quantity and quality; synchronizing and deepening credit-based training, in order to contribute to improving training quality; promoting scientific research and international cooperation.

The conference also voted to elect the People's Inspection Committee for the 2009-2011 term, including 05 comrades: Nguyen Van Anh (Faculty of History), Le Minh Loan (Faculty of Psychology), Phung Thi Kim Oanh (Department of Planning and Finance), Dao Van Hung (Faculty of Vietnamese and Vietnam Studies), Dao Minh Quan (Department of Training).
