Strengthening cooperation with some Southern universities

From July 29 to August 3, 2011, a delegation of officials from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities led by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector - visited and worked at several universities in the South: University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU-HCM, Saigon University, Bac Lieu University, and the Continuing Education Center of Ca Mau province.At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU-HCM, the two sides discussed issues of mutual interest in postgraduate training cooperation, scientific research, organizing seminars and implementation directions in the following years. Up to now, the two schools have cooperated in postgraduate training in the majors of Journalism, International Relations, and Science and Technology Management for 4 courses. At Bac Lieu University, the two sides shared many experiences in training, fostering and improving professional qualifications and management capacity for lecturers and management leaders, and linking training between majors in the school. In addition to the postgraduate training cooperation program in Science and Technology Management in 2011, Bac Lieu University continues to propose joint training in a number of other majors in the next 5 years. Dr. Dao Hoang Nam (Rector) wishes to build a comprehensive, long-term project in postgraduate training cooperation with the School. Also in Bac Lieu, the delegation worked with Mr. Vu Van Hoa (Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee) and Mr. Nguyen Van Ut (Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee). The provincial leaders all expressed their interest in enhancing the development of culture, education and especially training high-quality human resources for the province. It is known that Bac Lieu University was established in November 2006 and officially came into operation on January 1, 2007. Currently, the University is continuing to propose to the Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training to allow opening new majors to meet training needs of society along with expanding non-formal training systems; cooperating with universities nationwide to train a number of postgraduate majors, including the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU. In addition, the delegation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities also visited and worked with the Ca Mau Continuing Education Center to discuss the coordination of training for the Journalism major, which will be enrolled in October 2011. The visit and work of the delegation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has made the cooperative relationship in training and scientific research between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi and universities in the South increasingly stronger.
