From May 14 to May 23, 2019, 12 students and 3 staff members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities became representatives of Vietnam to participate in exchange programs in Beijing and Kunming (Yunnan Province, China) within the framework of the "Conference on Dialogue on Asian Civilizations and the 2019 Mekong Young Leaders Cultural Exchange Camp".

The journey is divided into two consecutive stages:

Stage 1: from May 14 to May 17, 2019 in Beijing.

Representatives from Vietnam, along with representatives from many Asian countries, attended a forum on the responsibility of youth in promoting the heritage of Asian civilization at the National Convention Center of China, listening to the sharing of leaders and scholars from China, Malaysia, India, South Korea and Singapore on the responsibility of youth in building a shared future for the Asian community.

In addition to participating in conferences and seminars, you will also be able to attend cultural exchange programs such as: Asian Cultural Festival - a national art performance held at the Bird's Nest Stadium; visit the Soong Ching Ling Chinese Cultural and Scientific Center - where you can experience traditional Chinese cultural activities such as fabric dyeing, calligraphy, statue making, etc.

Before leaving the capital for Kunming, young people from six countries in the Mekong region also had the opportunity to share their stories about Chinese culture and initiatives to enhance cultural exchange and understanding between countries.

Stage 2: from May 17 to May 23, 2019 in Kunming, Yunnan province.

Representatives of Vietnam and youth representatives from 6 Mekong countries: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, China traveled from Beijing to Kunming to attend the 2019 Mekong Young Leaders Cultural Exchange Camp. The program was organized by the China Youth Association and the Yunnan Provincial Youth Association to promote learning and sharing about the common culture of the Mekong River basin countries with activities such as cultural exchange forums and folk art performances imbued with the national cultural identity of each country.

In addition, the program is also an opportunity for young people to learn about China's policies towards countries in the region, the economic development, education, culture of China in general and of ethnic minorities in Yunnan province in particular through activities such as visiting the Yunnan ethnic cultural village, attending the ethnic minority cultural performance program: "Diversity of Yunnan", visiting the Yunnan information - data center, visiting Yunnan primary school, visiting universities, physical therapy centers, Longrun company - a very famous tea production company in Kunming city. Finally, the program ended with the sharing of young start-ups of Kunming city and the sharing of youth from 6 countries about the program.

Delegates take photos with actors during the "Dynamic Junnan" art performance - a program imbued with the cultural identity of ethnic minorities in Yunnan province.

This is not only an activity for young Vietnamese people to exchange, learn and respect cultural differences, but also an opportunity for them to bring the image of Vietnam closer to international friends.
