Prof. Dr. Thomas Beke (University of Stirling, UK) presented on "Legal issues in public relations activities"
The talk was organized by the Faculty of Journalism and Communication as part of a collaborative project between the faculty and the University of Stirling (UK) on media management.
At the talk, Professor Thomas Beke presented an overview of understanding and enforcing the law in the field of public relations, especially in businesses. The laws in public relations mentioned by the professor in the talk include: Law in communication, law on media and media workers, PR on law and litigation.
The talk attracted many students, lecturers of public relations and PR people at businesses.
The professor also emphasized the importance of the law in public relations activities: “People who do public relations without understanding the law often violate regulations and face risks in the process of working. As a result, they will have to bear personal responsibility and it will be very dangerous when you represent a business.”
In addition to Prof. Dr. Thomas’s presentation, the Organizing Committee also took the time to announce the recruitment plan for the Master of Media Management program in conjunction with the University of Stirling. The first course is expected to start in September this year.
