On July 6, 2015, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Principal) received and worked with a delegation from the University of Hawaii at Manoa (USA) led by Professor Donald B. Young (Principal of the School of Education).

At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the history of training and research of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as a leading address for training in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is promoting its international position by promoting international publishing activities, teaching international programs and expanding international cooperation with foreign partners. The Vice President proposed to implement cooperation between the University of Hawaii at Manoa by suggesting some directions of activities between the two schools such as implementing joint research topics, exchanging lecturers and students.

Prof. Donald B. Young accepted the proposal of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh and said that Baruch College wanted to learn more about the activities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. In particular, he proposed student exchanges between the two sides as an activity to promote cooperation.

Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh said that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is ready to welcome American students to study and conduct research at the University through short-term courses in English, learning Vietnamese and visiting Vietnamese society, as well as sending lecturers and staff from the University to conduct joint research with staff and lecturers from the other side. The two sides also proposed signing a Cooperation Agreement in the future.

Founded in 1907, the University of Hawaii at Manoa is the flagship institution of the University of Hawaii system. The school is located in Manoa, an urban community in Honolulu, Hawaii. The University of Hawaii offers bachelor's, master's, doctoral and professional degrees in areas such as architecture, arts and sciences, arts and humanities, business, education, engineering, literature and linguistics, natural sciences, social sciences, etc. Currently, the school has 20,005 students enrolled.
