Exciting atmosphere at the launching ceremony of the volunteer campaign "Green Summer" 2015

Attending the ceremony were comrade Tran Bach Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi National University Youth Union, Secretary of the School Youth Union, comrade Nguyen Thi Mai Lan - Deputy Secretary of the School Youth Union, President of the School Student Association, comrade Tran Duc Hoa - Vice President of the School Student Association, many former students representing the green summer movement and more than 100 volunteer students from the 2015 summer volunteer models.

Taking place from July 12 to July 30, more than 100 student volunteers from the Unions and Unions of faculties and departments will be divided into 4 teams to Van Tho and Hoang Nong communes (Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province) and Dung Liet and Yen Trung communes (Yen Phong district, Bac Ninh province). These are places associated with the history and tradition of the school during the resistance war. In addition, there are also professional models such as the Campaign Reporters Team and the Thang Long - Hanoi Cultural and Historical Propaganda Team.

A special point of the 2015 “Green Summer” campaign is the destination that the volunteers are aiming for. Celebrating the 70th anniversary of tradition and the 20th anniversary of the school’s founding, it is no coincidence that the Youth Union – Student Association of the school chose Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen as the places where the youth of the Faculty of Humanities contribute… This is where many students of the Faculty of Humanities evacuated from “bombed” Hanoi, where their “fathers” took refuge to avoid bombs and bullets to study and research, and now, the students of the Faculty of Humanities have returned and contributed their youth, creativity and enthusiasm. Therefore, this trip can be considered as “returning to the source” – showing gratitude to the localities.

During their volunteer activities, volunteer teams will coordinate with local youth volunteers to carry out activities such as environmental sanitation and improvement, organizing cultural, artistic and summer activities for teenagers and children, visiting and giving gifts to children in difficult circumstances and writing articles, reporting and collecting photo data about the green shirts throughout the mountains and forests.

“Youth” are the two words that clearly describe the atmosphere of the launching ceremony of the “Green Summer” campaign 2015. Although they are also volunteer models that are far from the usual as every year, Thai Nguyen or Bac Ninh are names that carry deep meaning for each student of Humanities in general and volunteers in particular. This summer, volunteers are the ones who bring youth and enthusiasm to represent the Humanities youth to contribute the most meaningful things to the lands with long-standing traditions. Let’s wish these enthusiastic faces will always keep the smiles of today in the summer volunteer summary meeting after a 20-day summer volunteer trip with many challenges ahead.
