Students of Faculty of Journalism and Communication won 2 gold prizes

The short documentary “The Children” by Bui Thi Ha - a student of class K53 Journalism and Communication - won 2 gold prizes at the 2011 Golden Lotus Awards ceremony.Outstandingly surpassing nearly 50 other short documentaries, the film “The Children” by Bui Thi Ha was selected to be premiered (along with 4 other short documentaries) at the award ceremony held at the French Cultural Center in Hanoi (L'Espace), on the evening of June 18. When premiered, “The Children” received a warm welcome and high praise from the audience and the jury. The final result was that the film “The Children” by Bui Thi Ha won 2 Golden Lotus Awards for Best Documentary voted by the jury and Best Documentary voted by the audience. The Golden Lotus 2011 is an award to honor the best short films by students of the We Make Films project of the Center for Supporting and Developing Cinema Talents (TPD) - Vietnam Cinema Association. We Make Films are short-term courses on Documentary and Feature Films held on weekends for 16 sessions / 4 months (8 documentaries, 8 feature films). This is where you can grasp basic knowledge about cinema and experience interesting hours of filmmaking practice. Project participants: Students in grades 6, 7, 8 of secondary school, grades 10-11 of high school, university and college students in major cities and localities. Bui Thi Ha participated in class H18, project We Make Films, since March 2011.
