The men's soccer team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) entered the 2022 tournament with 16 other teams determined to defend the championship of the Hanoi National University tournament.
In the opening match, USSH defeated the Student Support Center team with a minimal score (1-0), thereby winning all 3 first points. The player who scored the first goal for the team was Nguyen Quoc Huy (number 08).

On the morning of November 19, 2022, in the second match of Group A,
USSH Teamwon 3-0 against Lien Quan 2 team, thereby early winning "1 ticket" to the quarterfinals.
The opening matches of the USSH Men's Soccer Team always receive attention, support and encouragement from the School Board of Directors and the School Union Executive Committee.

On November 24, 2022, the USSH team faced off against its "neighbor" the University of Natural Sciences. The match was still extremely tense because the University of Natural Sciences had to win to advance. With a 1-1 draw, the USSH team officially entered the Quarterfinals as the first team in Group A.
Continuing the winning streak and affirming the spirit of the defending champion, the USSH team convincingly won 2-0 against the International School Team in the Quarterfinal 1 match.
As expected, the Semi-final match between two teams with many "fated relationships" between USSH Team and University of Foreign Languages (ULIS) Team took place on the evening of December 8th, extremely tense and exciting until the last minute. The official starting lineup of USSH included: Trinh Van Bang (Goalkeeper), Nguyen Tuan Anh (Captain), Nguyen Van Thuy, Dao Tuan Anh, Ngo Tuan Thang, Pham Huy Cuong, Nguyen Quoc Huy.

The football team players took photos with enthusiastic fans of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities before the ball rolled.
With the home field advantage, the USSH team attacked quite intensively, increasing the pressure on the goal of goalkeeper Trinh Van Bang. And in a shining moment of player number 11, the USSH team took the lead 1-0. But immediately after that, with the fierce command of captain Nguyen Tuan Anh (player number 7), the entire USSH team played with concentration and cohesion, defending firmly, but ready to attack when the opportunity arose.
When necessary, the entire team, including the strikers, retreated deep to create a solid protective barrier in front of goalkeeper Trinh Van Bang's goal.
And a “masterpiece” came after an indirect free kick right in front of the opponent’s goal. Instead of kicking straight, player Nguyen Tuan Anh feinted, then passed the ball to player Dao Tuan Anh who swerved the ball through the dense wall of the DHNN team. The 1-1 draw was maintained until the end of the two regular periods. Defenders Pham Huy Cuong and Nguyen Quoc Huy excellently completed the task of closing in, marking closely, and minimizing the high balls and headers of the tall striker of the opposing team.
The USSH Team's free kick arrangement was very smooth and classy.
The two teams had to enter a nerve-wracking penalty shootout. There were only 3 chances for 3 players from each team. Nguyen Van Thuy (shirt number 10) and Dao Tuan Anh (shirt number 25) coldly kicked straight into the goal, giving the opposing goalkeeper no chance to block. In the final round of kicks, the responsibility fell heavily on the shoulders of goalkeeper Trinh Van Bang and player Nguyen Quoc Huy (shirt number 8). However, with their experience on the field, their bravery and individual skills, the USSH players ended the penalty shootout with a 3-2 victory.
Goalkeeper Trinh Van Bang was very focused, and as a result, successfully blocked the opponent's striker's explosive penalty kick.
Congratulations to the USSH Men's Soccer Team on their victory. The opportunity to defend the Championship Cup is very close when the USSH team will meet the VNU Agency Team in the Final.
