On January 4, 2023, in the warm weather of the days preparing to enter the Year of the Cat, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU) solemnly held an intimate meeting to wish retired staff a Happy New Year. Attending were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector), leaders of affiliated departments, faculties/departments, the Trade Union Executive Committee, the Association of Former Teachers, the Youth Union; and 280 teachers who are former teachers of the University.
“Tet is for returning”, Tet is an occasion for every Vietnamese person to return home to gather with their family and relatives, to express gratitude to their grandparents, ancestors, and previous generations. Continuing the good tradition, when the new spring is coming, the Party Committee of the Board of Directors, the Trade Union Executive Committee, and the Association of Former Teachers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities had a meeting to wish a happy new year and also to express their recognition and gratitude to the teachers and staff of many generations who have contributed to building and nurturing the tradition, position, and brand of Hanoi National University, now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Speaking at the meeting, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his joy when every time Tet comes, he sees a large number of teachers gathering at the common house of Humanity with good health and full of joy. On behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the School, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan reported to the veteran teachers on some of the outstanding achievements of the school in all aspects of activities in 2022, especially in the field of staff organization, personnel consolidation of the Party Committee, Board of Directors, and leadership boards of faculties/departments; enrollment, quality assurance, scientific research, university administration, and facility renovation. To achieve these successes, we must certainly mention the support, companionship, participation, and contributions of the team of veteran teachers, staff, and former teachers of the School. Although the teachers have been given leave by the State, they are always ready to participate in all areas of the School's work: from scientific research, teaching, thesis guidance to volunteer activities, etc. The teachers are great scientists with extensive experience, exemplary pedagogues, so they not only continue to impart knowledge and methods through lectures and scientific research guidance, but also pass on to the next generation their passion, love for the profession, tireless scientific work and a noble humanitarian spirit. On the occasion of the upcoming Spring of Quy Mao, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan wishes all retired teachers and staff good health, happiness, peace and continues to care for and accompany the Board of Directors, staff, lecturers and students so that the School continues to achieve many new successes in 2023.

Principal Hoang Anh Tuan was pleased to inform retired teachers and staff about the achievements in 2022 and the key tasks of the School in 2023.
On behalf of the Association of Former Teachers of the School, Associate Professor Dr. Lam Ba Nam (Chairman of the Association) expressed his gratitude to the School's Board of Directors, departments, faculties/departments for always paying attention and taking good care of the material and spiritual life of the staff, regularly visiting and encouraging the retired staff. Although the teachers have retired according to the State's regime, the School still consults the opinions of the team of Former Teachers in building development strategies as well as organizing activities; inviting teachers to participate in teaching, scientific guidance, writing articles for seminars, or participating in seminars, sharing experiences with the younger generation. Therefore, even though we have retired, we - the former teachers are always ready to participate so that we can continue to contribute our efforts with the younger generation to make the school a success.

Associate Professor Dr. Lam Ba Nam expressed his joy and confidence that the younger generation will continue the tradition that previous generations have built, enhancing the brand and position of Hanoi University of Humanities not only domestically but also reaching out to the region and the world.
Also at the meeting, representatives of the Board of Directors and the Association of Former Teachers of the school presented gifts to congratulate teachers who were 80, 85, 90, and 95 years old and gave lucky money to teachers over 90 years old.
The meeting is also an opportunity for retired teachers to gather at the school where they have worked to meet, chat, confide, share life stories, their stories and wish each other good health in the new year. Over the past two years, due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, the organization of the year-end meeting has been temporarily interrupted. Perhaps that is why the atmosphere of this year's meeting seems more bustling and exciting and the stories seem to last forever.
