The first 10 Nguyen Truong To scholarships were awarded to students.

On January 4, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the Nguyen Truong To scholarship award ceremony - a scholarship program sponsored by the VNHelp California Charity Association, in coordination with the Vietnam Education Promotion Fund.Each scholarship worth 3,700,000 VND was awarded to 10 students from different faculties and courses with difficult circumstances who strived to study well and achieve good results. Attending and awarding the scholarships were journalist Pham Huy Hoan (Editor-in-Chief of Dan Tri electronic newspaper, Director of Vietnam Education Promotion Fund), Ms. Do Anh Thu (Director of VNHelp Charity Association), Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu - Head of Political and Student Affairs Department and representatives of department leaders. At the ceremony, Ms. Do Anh Thu - Director of VNHelp Charity Association said: VnHelp was established and operated by overseas Vietnamese in the US to help students with difficult circumstances strive to study better. VNHelp has been operating in Vietnam since 1991 and the Nguyen Truong To scholarship program is one of the educational assistance programs that VNHelp has been bringing to students of Vietnamese universities and colleges since its inception. Currently, each year VNHelp awards 350 scholarships to university students across the country. VNHelp's Nguyen Truong To Scholarship will be funded annually. If students maintain their academic performance, they will continue to receive the scholarship in the following years. This is the first year that students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have received the Nguyen Truong To Scholarship.
