On November 11, 2013, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) received and worked with a delegation from the University of Toulouse II – Le Mirail (France) led by Prof. Jean Michel Minovez (Rector). Also receiving the delegation were representatives of the departments of Psychology, Sociology, Tourism Studies and functional departments.
At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh gave an overview of the historical tradition and achievements of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities over the past 70 years. The University is currently the leading training and research institution in Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam, and has been a place for research and teaching of many leading scientists and cultural figures, and a cradle for training many famous leaders and managers of the country. The University currently has 13,000 undergraduate students and postgraduates, training 23 undergraduate majors and 60 postgraduate majors, and has 8 training programs in collaboration with prestigious foreign universities.
The University has an open cooperative relationship with more than 180 partners, including typical representatives of France such as: University of Paris 7, University of Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne, University of Toulouse II Le Mirail, University of Marseille Aix-en-Provence... Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh emphasized: "The University considers the cooperative relationship with University of Toulouse II Le Mirail as of utmost importance and one of the most effective international cooperation activities in the past 20 years". University of Toulouse II Le Mirail has supported and coordinated with the University to implement French-language joint training programs, including: bilingual undergraduate training in Clinical Psychology, Master's in Child and Adolescent Developmental Psychology, Master's in Public Policy and Business Management. The products of these training programs are highly appreciated and accepted by society.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh suggested that in the coming time, the cooperation between the two universities should be further promoted with specific goals: maintaining and sustaining the quality of existing joint training programs, coordinating to open more joint training programs for Masters in Social Psychology, Labor, Career and Environmental Psychology, coordinating to organize research seminars or joint research projects on topics related to regional development, Psychology, Sociology, Tourism Studies... which are the strengths of the two universities.

Prof. Jean Michel Minovez said that in its development history, Toulouse II Le Mirail University has a special interest in Vietnam in general and in training cooperation programs with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in particular. Prof. Jean Michel Minovez affirmed: "The University of Social Sciences and Humanities has always been a special and priority partner".
Highly appreciating the effectiveness of existing joint training programs, the Rector of Toulouse II Le Mirail University said that the relationship between the two universities will continue to focus on quality, efficiency and intensity of activities as well as bilaterality between the two sides. Toulouse II Le Mirail University supports the expansion of joint training programs and research projects on social sciences and humanities between the two universities.
