On May 17, 2011, the 16th Student Science Conference of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, academic year 2010-2011 was held.Speaking at the opening of the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Son - Vice Principal of the University - emphasized: Scientific research activities of students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have become a tradition that has been established and developed from very early on through many generations. Last year alone, the whole school had 1,000 students participating in scientific research with 600 reports, these are the initial steps to help students be confident, exchange and share, and accumulate knowledge. After the plenary session, the conference was divided into 4 subcommittees, at each subcommittee, lecturers and students listened to and discussed 6 most typical reports with diverse and rich content in different fields. This is also an opportunity for students to exchange, learn and make scientific recommendations. The general assessment of the subcommittees showed that most of the students' research works were of high quality, covering a wide range of issues from theoretical academic issues to specific, current and practical issues. As a result, 132 students, authors of 82 scientific research works, received certificates of merit from the Principal. Of these, 19 works won first prizes, 29 second prizes, and 34 third prizes. (
Download the list of first and second prize winning projects) In addition, 7 groups with high scientific research achievements also received certificates of merit from the Principal. Specifically: The Department of Archival Science and Office Management won the first prize for the group; the second prize for the group included: Department of Political Science, Department of Information - Library, Department of Literature; and the third prize included: Department of Management Science, Department of History, Department of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language. In addition, the School's Youth Union also awarded encouragement prizes to student union members for scientific research for 5 research topics.
