(SVVN) “My parents used to say: You have to travel a lot to know that there are many people who have it harder than you. You have to be satisfied with what you have now.” The above very “emotional” confession is from Pham Khanh Hoa - a third-year student of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. According to Hoa, after each volunteer trip, the girl feels more compassionate towards people, more compassionate towards life and is happy to learn how to look at life in many dimensions and also lessons about love…

Right from the moment he entered the university gate, Hoa chose the Student Volunteer Team as the place to entrust his youth. With his passion for volunteering and his enthusiasm and dynamism, Hoa was trusted to hold the position of Deputy Team Leader of the Student Volunteer Team. Khanh Hoa shared: “Joining Xung Kich is a decision that I have never regretted. Among many choices when entering the university gate, I chose Xung Kich as the place to entrust my youth, as a companion. Going to university is an environment that makes me change myself a lot. I like cheerleading, I like a dynamic environment, I like social activities, I like to communicate and talk with people and help others, I want to learn,... Xung Kich gives me everything above and more. This “big friend” of mine has grown up and matured with me a lot. I have joy, laughter, brothers and sisters, friends and younger siblings here, so we call Xung Kich “Home”.
During her volunteering career, Khanh Hoa has left her passion and mark in volunteer programs with many roles: Team leader of the "Green Summer 2023" Volunteer Team; Volunteer of the "Green Summer 2022" program in Yen Do commune, Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province; Volunteer of the "Spring to give love 2022" program in Yen Son commune, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province; Head of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Warm Spring Volunteer Program "Ban mai Lang Chang" 2023; Volunteer of the "Supporting the National High School Exam Season 2023 - 2024" campaign at Khuong Dinh Secondary School; Volunteer of the Supporting the Exam Season of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities... Dream of becoming a "volunteer"
Khanh Hoa loves volunteer activities. Since childhood, the girl has been very moved by the images of children or people running away from floods, difficult circumstances, etc. Hoa confided: “There is a funny story, also a secret story of mine that only a few of my friends know about my childhood dream. In grade 5, when I was asked to write about my future dream, I wrote that I wanted to become a “volunteer”. Now thinking back, I feel lucky because I have, am and will continue to fulfill my childhood dream. I love volunteering very much, I love volunteering very much. My family, parents, and relatives around me are also the motivation and support my activities. My parents once said: “You have to travel a lot to know that there are many people who are more disadvantaged than you. You have to be satisfied with what you have now”. I love volunteer work even more because there are always people around me who wholeheartedly love and understand the work I am doing”.

Humanity remains after giving
After each volunteer trip, Hoa has different memories and emotions. The girl feels more compassion for people and life. “Give to receive. I receive more than I give. I receive small gifts from the children in the locality where I volunteer, I receive handshakes from the elderly, I receive thoughtful and enthusiastic reception from the local people, I receive joy and laughter from the children, lessons through stories about unfortunate lives,... I learn many things, I learn how to look at life in many dimensions, I learn lessons about love, …”, Hoa shared.

When facing difficulties, Hoa often seeks out friends and relatives to confide in. The girl feels lucky and appreciates her teammates who always listen, share and help her mentally. On the path of studying and working, Hoa always has her family as her backer: "My biggest motivation is my family: my father always follows me, my mother always accompanies me on every step of my growth and supports me wholeheartedly, and my younger brother always encourages, asks questions and cares for me."
Khanh Hoa shared about her upcoming plans: “I will continue to fulfill my childhood dream in parallel with studying and developing my future career. After a period of working, I found another joy, I am trying to study and improve my knowledge in the field of Event Organization. For someone who “cannot sit still” like me, I like doing Events, I like volunteering, I like bringing joy and benefits to life. I hope that in the future, my plans will go in the direction I have planned, I hope that everything will go smoothly and even if there are difficulties, I will overcome them in the most gentle way. I hope that I will still be trusted, accepted and loved by everyone”.
