On the evening of December 28, 2023, VNU organized a meeting with international students and a New Year's Eve 2024 celebration.
This is an annual activity of VNU, with the hope that the international student community in particular and VNU students in general have the opportunity to exchange and strengthen solidarity and friendship. The meeting is also an opportunity for VNU leaders to directly listen to the thoughts, aspirations and sharing of international students from many countries around the world studying at VNU's training units.
Attending the program were VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son; Head of Cooperation and Development Department Nguyen Thi Anh Thu; Director of Student Support Center Vu Van Thang; Secretary of Youth Union Hua Thanh Hoa; President of Student Association Tuong Van Thuan and representatives of leaders of training units in VNU.
Speaking at the program, Vice President Pham Bao Son expressed his joy at meeting and interacting with international students studying and researching at VNU. In 2023, VNU continued to maintain stability, successfully completing the set goals in each field of work, affirming its role as a leading multidisciplinary and multidisciplinary university center in Vietnam, increasing its indexes and rankings in the international arena. This year can also be said to be a successful year for VNU when many policies to support lecturers, scientists and learners were issued, creating motivation and contributing to attracting a team of highly qualified scientists to work at VNU. "These successes are thanks in no small part to the contributions of you - the international students of VNU" - he shared.
Vice President Pham Bao Son also expressed his hope that the international student community at VNU will join hands with the Vietnamese student community to develop the VNU student community with its own style and mark, contributing to creating a good impression of a traditional training institution of the country. He also expressed his hope that through this community, VNU will be known to international friends and become a destination in the near future for students from all over the world.
In recent years, the internationalization of higher education has become a policy of the Party and the State, in which attracting international students is considered one of the important factors to improve the internationalization level of higher education institutions, contributing to building reputation and influencing the rankings of higher education institutions on international rankings. According to statistics, VNU currently has about 2,000 international students studying short-term and long-term courses at training units. VNU always values and pays much attention to international students, because when they come to VNU, they will also become "ambassadors" contributing to the continuous increase of VNU's reputation and brand in the international community.
