Talkshow “Social Science Students: Opportunities and Challenges in Starting a Business”

Within the framework of the DynaGen Initiative, the Foundation for Vietnamese Stature in collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) organized the talkshow “Social Sciences Students: Opportunities and Challenges in Entrepreneurship”. This event is one of the activities alongside the official training program of the DynaGen Initiative to support students in developing their personal skills.

The speaker accompanying the students in this talk show is Mr. Hoang Quoc Quyen, a former student of USSH, currently holding the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of ADT Group. Previously, he successfully built Viettel's telecommunications brand in Peru as General Director of Bitel.

At the end of 2018, Mr. Hoang Quoc Quyen participated in the Vietnam Young Leaders Forum 2018 with the theme STARTUP 2019: WHAT'S NEXT, exchanging information about the economic context, opportunities and challenges in the context of increasingly modern world technology in all aspects.

In 2017, Mr. Hoang Quoc Quyen also participated in an exchange with USSH students on the topic of "Career Orientation and Entrepreneurship", helping to inspire students' entrepreneurial spirit and providing a vision of the strengths of social science students when starting a business.

Based on reality, along with the views and experiences of Mr. Hoang Quoc Quyen, students of social sciences have very open job opportunities, not only limited to research or social activities. After graduation, you can work in the fields of education and training, public administration, public relations, even business, management, etc. Besides those open development opportunities, as well as economic, technical, etc. groups, students and young graduates of social sciences will certainly also encounter many difficulties and challenges.

Starting out as a Psychology graduate, moving into a technology company management role, Mr. Quyen understands better than anyone the advantages and challenges that social science students encounter on their path to establishing their careers.

On April 17, Mr. Hoang Quoc Quyen will come to the talk show at USSH, share his experiences and give advice to social science students in particular and students in general in starting their careers.

The organizers hope that, with the same purpose as the DynaGen Initiative project, the talkshow will help students prepare their mindset, knowledge, and skills to seize opportunities and face challenges. From there, students will have more inspiration and a clearer direction on their development path, job search, and position in the workplace.
