Online consultation morning of March 23

After more than 10 hours of serious and urgent work with the highest sense of responsibility from both teachers and students, the graduation thesis defense ceremony for students of the QH-2009-X course of the Faculty of Information and Library Science was a great success. At the end of the afternoon of the same day, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Quy (Chairwoman of the Council) summarized the defense ceremony.

Accordingly, all graduation theses are highly appreciated by the Defense Council not only for their presentation form and scientific content, but also for their method of summarizing the thesis content and the students' ability to present research results.

In terms of content, the research directions not only focus on the traditional basic and specialized knowledge of the information and television industry but also have new research topics, updating new scientific knowledge and achievements applied in the information and television industry such as: Organization and operation of modern information centers and libraries; Digitizing documents and building digital collections; Organizing events in information and television activities; Accessing open information; Applying Facebook social network to information and television activities; Virtual library model and Google Books project; Marketing in information and television activities; Multimedia library; Private library serving the community, Reading culture...

In terms of form, the theses were presented in accordance with the school's regulations and printed beautifully. In terms of the ability to summarize the thesis content and present, most students summarized the research content very well and were very confident when presenting, answering well the questions of the reviewers and the council. Besides, there were also theses that did not comply with the school's presentation regulations, so the arrangement of references, the arrangement of abbreviations, and the citation of references were not correct... The final result was that 32 students (100%) all achieved a score of 9.0 or higher.

This is the second academic year that the Faculty of Information and Library Science has organized thesis defenses one semester ahead of schedule for fourth-year students on the basis of students completing their training progress early, since applying the credit-based training method. This result has received positive responses from students and employers, thereby creating new opportunities for students of the Information and Library Science major, University of Social Sciences and Humanities to find jobs soon after graduation.
