The workshop was organized into 3 sessions with three major content areas: political-security community; economic community; socio-cultural community.

Session 1: ASEAN Political-Security Community: Key to National and Regional Integration in Southeast Asia. In this session, researchers and experts focused on discussing the reports: ASEAN and Integration in Southeast Asia: The Role of the ASEAN Political-Security Community; The Future of the ASEAN Community after 2015: From the Perspective of the ASEAN Political-Security Community; Towards the ASEAN Political-Security Community: The Difficulties Ahead; US Cooperation with ASEAN within the ASEAN Political-Security Community from 2009 to Present...

Dr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, presented a paper on the issue of "Discussing the vision of the ASEAN economic community after 2015 and some issues raised"

Session 2: ASEAN Economic Community: Key to national and regional integration in Southeast Asia, chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Vice Rector of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU. This session focuses on the following contents: Discussing the vision of the ASEAN Economic Community after 2015 and some issues; ASEAN Economic Community and foreign direct investment aspects: China's perspective; ASEAN Economic Community: prospects and issues for Vietnam; Vietnam's readiness in AEC integration.

Session 3: ASEAN socio-cultural community: key to national and regional integration in Southeast Asia. Some typical reports of this session are: ASEAN socio-cultural community and Vietnam's participation; From national identity to regional identity: challenges for ASEAN socio-cultural community; ASEAN community's awareness and actions on humanitarian assistance in response to natural disasters.
