Session 2: ASEAN Economic Community: Key to national and regional integration in Southeast Asia, chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Vice Rector of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU. This session focuses on the following contents: Discussing the vision of the ASEAN Economic Community after 2015 and some issues; ASEAN Economic Community and foreign direct investment aspects: China's perspective; ASEAN Economic Community: prospects and issues for Vietnam; Vietnam's readiness in AEC integration.

Some typical reports of this session are: ASEAN socio-cultural community and Vietnam's participation; From national identity to regional identity: challenges for ASEAN socio-cultural community; ASEAN community's awareness and actions on humanitarian assistance in response to natural disasters.
