"Close, generous, hospitable" are the shortest words that can describe the people of Yen Phong (Bac Ninh) and Dai Tu (Thai Nguyen) - the two localities that will welcome volunteer students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities this summer.
During May 23-24, 2015, representatives of the Youth Union - Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities made a preliminary trip to Yen Phong (Bac Ninh) and Dai Tu (Thai Nguyen) districts to prepare for the 2015 summer volunteer plan. Yen Phong and Dai Tu are also the two localities where teachers and students of the University of General Sciences - the predecessor of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities evacuated to during the fierce years of resistance against the US. In the exciting atmosphere towards the 70th anniversary of tradition and 20th anniversary of the school's founding, this year's volunteer activities are meaningful as "returning to the source" trips - to the place that sheltered the predecessors of the current Humanities generation during the most difficult times. Specifically, in Dai Tu district, there will be two volunteer student teams going to Van Tho and Hoang Nong communes, in Yen Phong district, there will be two volunteer student teams going to Yen Trung and Dung Liet communes. Each team is expected to have about 30-40 students and the volunteer campaign will begin in early July.
