VNU starts admission from June 8, 2015
On the afternoon of June 1, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Son, Vice President of VNU, said that VNU will organize the first round of admission from June 8 to June 25, 2015; the second round from August 10 to August 25, 2015.
The application documents include an application form (printed from the VNU website or VNU's training units); priority certificate if any; stamped envelope with address; application fee according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. How to submit the application: Candidates can send it by post or submit it directly to the admission councils of the units.
Candidates can register for a maximum of 3 majors in order of priority, at a training facility of VNU. The Vice President of VNU reminded candidates to consider and choose carefully because each student is only allowed to register for one unit of VNU. If candidates choose more than 2 schools, the school that entered the data first will have their application for admission to that school.
Training units under VNU use the results of the first round of competency assessment tests from highest to lowest. Schools do not necessarily have to take all of them, because they can reserve quotas for the next admission round.
For the University of Foreign Languages, the score of the competency assessment test is a condition, while the admission score is the result of the foreign language test. The Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy agrees to only accept applications with the natural science elective block (the competency assessment certificate will clearly state the compulsory and elective score components).
Announcement of admission results on June 29, 2015
Some candidates are concerned about the calculation of priority points. Vice President of VNU Nguyen Kim Son said: priority points will be added to the results of the competency assessment test. Priority points between successive groups of subjects differ by 5 points (Previously, the calculation was 1 point for 3 subjects with a maximum total score of 30. Now, the total competency assessment score is 140 points, so the new bonus score will be 5 points). The difference between successive regions is 2.5 points (the old calculation was 0.5 points).
VNU will announce the admission results no later than June 29. For those who graduated from high school before 2014, when their assessment scores meet the entrance standards, they are considered to have passed the entrance exam. For those who do not have a diploma, they will have to wait for the results of their high school diploma.
Admission notices will be sent before July 25 for the first round and before September 1 for the second round. The admission period lasts from August 25 to September 10, 2015, depending on the training unit. When candidates are admitted and enrolled in VNU, if they are interested in special programs of VNU, they will take a foreign language assessment test. Detailed information will be provided during the admission period.
