Summary of Union activities in the 2013 - 2014 school year

In the report summarizing the work of the Trade Union in the 2013-2014 school year and the key tasks and directions for the 2014-2015 school year, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Chairman of the Trade Union of the University affirmed: In the past school year, the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has performed well the functions and tasks of a grassroots trade union, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of the school's tasks for the year. The activities of the Trade Union closely follow the major action programs: protecting the legitimate rights and interests and taking care of the lives of teachers and workers, building harmonious labor relations, creating motivation to improve the quality of education and training; improving the professional ethics, professional qualifications and skills of trade union members; actively participating in emulation movements and social campaigns, effectively implementing the political tasks of the sector; innovating the organization, strengthening inspection work, improving the quality of the team; expanding foreign affairs activities.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Chairman of the School's Trade Union, presented a summary of trade union activities in the 2013-2014 school year and key tasks and directions for the 2014-2015 school year.

With the theme of Innovation - Discipline - Solidarity - Responsibility, the key directions and tasks of the School Union in the upcoming school year 2014-2015 are outlined as follows:

- Continue to improve the quality of staff. It is expected that there will be 40 PhD defense teams, bringing the number of staff with PhD degrees to 220 people.

- Implementing the construction of a competitive working environment, implementing well the regulations on office culture, strictly abiding by labor discipline, optimizing the fields of teaching, learning, research organization as well as operating the school's operating apparatus from departments to faculties/departments/divisions, contributing to administrative reform according to ISO standards.

- Continue to promote the dissemination of law

- Strengthen political and ideological education on patriotism and national sovereignty. Promote emulation activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the school's establishment and 70th anniversary of its tradition.

Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu, Vice Principal of the School, gave a speech at the conference.

On behalf of the Party Committee and the School Board of Directors, Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu - Vice Principal of the School, acknowledged and commended the achievements of the School's Trade Union. The Trade Union actively participated in implementing many important tasks of the School, had many activities to encourage and help union members in improving their qualifications and participating in good work. The Trade Union also cared about the lives of union members, creating a spirit of solidarity in the collective; participated in many meaningful social activities such as: caring for heroic mothers, helping children in difficult circumstances, visiting and encouraging wounded soldiers, building a Humanitarian Fund... With these activities, the School's Trade Union has excellently fulfilled its tasks, being a worthy representative organization of the workers.

Regarding the direction of work for the 2014-2015 school year, Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu also emphasized 3 contexts that will directly impact the Union's activities in the coming school year:

- The 2014-2015 school year is the year to conclude a term as Principal and begin a new term as Principal. The Trade Union, together with the Party Committee, the School Board of Directors, and all staff in the school, need to focus on determining tasks, plans, and appropriate development directions for the new period.

- Maintain regular activities of the School according to the plan, the general tasks of the whole school are determined in the School's summary report.

- The coming school year is also a special year with many commemorative activities of the School. Therefore, the role and responsibility of the Trade Union in the coming school year is very important.

At the conference, the School Union also awarded collectives and individuals with high achievements in Union activities in the 2013-2014 school year.
