Opening of Social Work training course

This morning, December 29, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities opened the third short-term postgraduate training course in Social Work organized by the University in collaboration with UNICEF.

The course aims to enhance the capacity of researchers and lecturers in the field of Social Work in many universities and research institutes. Students wishing to participate in the course must have graduated from university in one of the following fields: Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Public Health, Educational Psychology, Special Education, Pedagogy, Management Science, Social Management.

This year, 87 students were admitted to Course III. Previously, Course I and Course II were successfully held in January and July 2009 with 124 students receiving certificates.

The main contents of the course include:

• Social work and mental health
• Social work in the medical field
• Social work with youth
• Social work with drug problems
• Family counseling
• Social work in assisting victims of domestic violence

Lecturers include foreign professors from Fordham University, SJSU and social work experts from Vietnamese universities.

Study time from December 29, 2009 to February 2, 2010.
