Seminar "Youth of University of Social Sciences and Humanities firmly steps under the Party flag"

On the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2015), on February 2, 2015, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU organized a talk show "Youth of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities firmly marching under the Party's flag".

The seminar was attended by delegates: Mr. Dang Luong Phu (Member of the Standing Committee of the University of Science Youth Union), Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Principal of the University), Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Quang Hien (Expert in researching Party history), Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs), Mr. Tran Bach Hieu (Secretary of the University Youth Union), Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Lan (Deputy Secretary of the University Youth Union, President of the Student Association), and representatives of the Party Committees of the Faculties/Departments and more than 300 outstanding union members in the whole university.

In his opening speech, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim affirmed that the school always focuses on training and orienting party members. Over the past 5 years, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has always been the leading unit in the Vietnam National University, Hanoi in training and orienting party members. Each year, over 300 members are considered for studying Party sympathy, and over 40 new members are admitted.

At the seminar, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Quang Hien presented an overview of the history of the Party's establishment and growth, as well as the process of leading the entire nation through many victories since the spring of 1930. Next, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu shared with the members the necessary factors to be in the Party's ranks, which are: it is necessary to determine the motive for joining the Party correctly and purely; must constantly train political mettle and revolutionary moral qualities; play a pioneering role, improve the ability to complete all tasks for the Party, the State and the people; must attach oneself to the collective, be responsible to the community in accordance with the spirit of "wherever there is a need, there is youth, wherever there is difficulty, there is youth". Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Quang Hien also affirmed that "Young communists are always the vanguard force" because this is a young intellectual force, constantly acquiring new knowledge, dynamic in an integrated society and always having the will to move mountains and fill seas".

The discussion was followed by many questions and concerns from the members about the process of training, striving and joining the Party, the attitude and responsibility of members in the face of many complicated developments in the world and the plots to sabotage our Party by hostile forces. Many situations and practical examples were directly discussed. The opinions expressed their belief in the Party, affirming that our Party is the Party "of the people, by the people, for the people", all the Party's fighting purposes are for the benefit of the people; at the same time, the opinions also emphasized the role of members in fighting against hostile forces, fighting for the Party's ideals.

The discussion ended in a solemn and friendly atmosphere. Although the time was short, the opinions discussed once again affirmed the understanding, trust, love and pride of Vietnamese youth in general and members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU in particular towards the Communist Party of Vietnam.
