Summary of Zensho Japan Research Support Program

On February 5, 2015, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) had a meeting and worked with Prof. Saito Mareshi, Assoc. Prof. Iwatsuki Junichi, Assoc. Prof. Shimizu Takeshi - Tokyo University to summarize the Zensho Japan Research Support Program. Also attending the meeting were representatives of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Training Cooperation.

Summary of Zensho Japan Research Support Program

Started operating in November 2011, up to now, the Zensho Program has invested in equipment and materials for research and study, and periodically organized teaching and academic research activities, short-term practical courses and received international students to study at the University of Tokyo.

Thereby, the Program has actively supported the teaching and learning of lecturers, students and postgraduate students of the Department of Japanese Studies and achieved some specific results in equipping facilities, receiving postgraduate students to study abroad at the University of Tokyo, organizing concentrated courses on Japan, organizing short-term internships at the University of Tokyo, inviting Vietnamese lecturers to conduct research at the University of Tokyo, organizing a seminar on library management, organizing a seminar on Japan - Vietnam Studies "Hanoi Rondo", organizing reading hours on ethnology, etc.

Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa said that the University highly appreciated the efforts of the University of Tokyo in the Zensho program. The two sides also discussed and agreed on the future development directions of the program.

The Zensho Japan Research Support Program is one of the contents of the cooperation agreement between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Tokyo. This program is sponsored by the Zensho Group to promote the development of Japanese studies in Vietnam and is one of the activities of the Zensho Group "Supporting the training of Asian talents" for the University of Tokyo.Chairman and CEO of Zensho Group - Mr. Ogawa Kentaro was awarded the Shiyokumon Prize by the University of Tokyo for his great contributions to the Program.
